Renewal

Renew by Jan. 31 of every odd-numbered year; $45 fee.

CEUs

8 board-approved CEUS every 2 years.

Prerequisites

Individuals holding a BTQR are not required to obtain an Independent Contract License to work as an independent.

Training An individual holding Boutique Registration must work in a licensed facility that is valid for the scope of practice of the registration.  

Scope of Practice

A boutique registration holder shall provide boutique services within a salon where the license is current and active. Boutique Registration holders shall not provide any service that claims to have a medical or healing benefit. Types of services:

Threading

Shampooing

Renewal Must be renewed by January 31 of each odd-numbered year

CEUs 1 Hour of Board Laws and Rules AND 3 hours of Infection Control and Safety

Prerequisites An Independent Contractor (IC)is an individual who is NOT an employee of a salon or shop but who leases/rents space to practice barbering or a branch of cosmetology within the facility.

An individual who is NOT an employee of a barber shop, but practices barbering within the business, is required to obtain an Independent Contractor license.

Applicant holds a current practicing license in barbering, cosmetology, or a branch of cosmetology.
